Traverse City is home for Marilyn Taylor, who previously lived in Marquette, Michigan, but moved to the area in 1985 to take a job with TV 9&10. With her passion for the outdoors, Marilyn enjoys the ever-changing weather that Traverse City offers, from sunny days to the snow, it is the perfect place to enjoy her favorite activities, cross-country skiing and hiking. She also appreciates the diversity of arts and culture that the community provides and feels fortunate for the wealth of talented artisans in this region. Marilyn recognizes how the arts can be used as a pathway to connect people to God, something she has experienced firsthand as part of the Worship Planning Team at Bay Pointe Community Church. Married to husband Tom for almost 25 years, they have raised 2 children, Paul who is in the Army and will most likely be in Iraq later this year and Gina who is now a junior at West Senior High.
Her local claim to fame is as the spokesperson for Traverse Motors, a job she has enjoyed for over 3 years now. Marilyn has a studio in her home from which she records voiceovers for companies all around the country, performing everything from voice messages to commercials to e-learning. As the mother of two adopted children, Marilyn selected Bethany Christian Services as her charity because she wants to give back to an organization that has helped complete their family. Through Bethany Christian Services, she and so many others are able to experience the joy of parenthood.
