A current resident of Traverse City, Philip appreciates Northern Michigan for its many opportunities for outdoor adventures and also feels that this area is a healthy environment for the cultivation of creative arts. Unlike the competitive nature of big city life, he finds it refreshing that Traverse City continues to maintain a friendly, handshake kind of attitude. Philip and his wife Angela met in college while dancing, they are the proud parents of a 6-month-old baby girl, Madelyn.
Along with his role of husband and father, Philip is also a teacher, performer and artistic director. He is looking forward to participating in SwingShift and the Stars because he believes that it is important to expose the general public to dance as a performance art in as many forms as possible. In doing so, he feels that performers can inspire the audience to look deeper and learn about dance as a form of expressing or communicating an idea reflecting our social values.
