Judy Harrison and SwingShift first took to the stage on May 18th, 2007 and have been entertaining local audiences ever since with their tight harmonies and dynamic choreography. The latest band in the High Impact Productions arsenal, SwingShift has all the high energy and fun of, ReBooted (formerly High Impact), Harrison’s country/rock band, but with a unique, big band sound, not typical of the Northern Michigan music scene. Incorporating songs from both the swing era as well as some jazz and Latin favorites, the SwingShift musical repertoire will entice you to grab a partner and hit the floor.
“We decided we just wanted to do music we loved that was great to dance to.” says Harrison. As lead vocalist for SwingShift, she is backed by an incredibly talented group of performers, including, band leader/keyboard player Mindy Rohn, Clark Harner on drums, Larry Avery on guitar and Marshall Cronican-Walker on bass. The singer dancers include Carey Owens, Susan Hatt Johnson, and Kristina Nichols. They also have Interlochen Arts Academy professors Laurie Sears on saxophone, Tom Riccobono on trombone, and Ken Larson on trumpet. Together their amazing amount of talent and countless years of professional experience combine to deliver an unforgettable performance.
Known around town for putting on exciting, interactive shows, Judy Harrison and SwingShift are regulars at the Traverse City Opera House.
