Dancing with Mel Kiogima for the Alzheimer’s Association. |
Heather feels a deep connection to Michigan. She was born and raised in the cereal capital of the world; Battle Creek, but prefers cherries to cornflakes by far! She loves northern Michigan for its natural beauty, the people, the food, the wine, the outdoor activities and of course the shoreline. One of her favorite people is J.D. Burson, a senior cadet at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. They plan to marry in the spring of 2012.
Heather knew she was destined to work in radio when every school report card came home with comments like "Talks too much; disturbs class; overly chatty with neighbors"! So it's not surprising that she found her way to 106.7 YOU-FM where she currently is Sales Manager and a Saturday Morning Host. When the Alzheimer's Association invited her to dance for them, her answer was immediately "YES!" Alzheimer's affects one out of five people and there is no cure. She believes that the Alzheimer's Association can help create a better life for our parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors and loved ones.
