Korin has considered Traverse City home since her family moved to town when she was four to settle in the “block area” of TC. For her, Northern Michigan is a great place to live and raise a family; with a vibrant arts and cultural community, an amazing environment for snow and water sports, fishing, boating, skiing, hiking; great food, shopping and schools, and most importantly, it is a community that cares about it members!
Korin resides in Traverse City with her husband, Mike, owner of Windborne Photographic Studios, and their two sons, Clarence and Mitchell who attend Grand Traverse Academy. She is also fortunate to have many members of her extended family nearby, including her brother and his family, her parents, mother, sister and brother-in-laws!
A small business owner, Korin purchased The Dance Center in 1996- the very same studio she attended when it first opened in 1968! With a Bachelors Degree from Ferris State University, Korin has also worked extensively in accounting and advertising since 1985.
She is looking forward to resuming her role as a judge because she enjoys the atmosphere of the event, the couples having fun with their dances and the wonderful sounds of SwingShift! This competition allows her to serve the community while also supporting her long-time friend, Judy Harrison. Korin and Judy have known each other for 16 years, with much of that time spent teaching together at The Dance Center. This competition is a logical extension of their many years playing, working and dancing together!
