Diana Fairbanks

Diana Fairbanks

Diana has come to feel connected to Northern Michigan- and has called this area home longer than any other place she has lived.  For her, there are many things that make this region special, but when she saw the water, it was love at first sight, and even now she still gets that same incredible feeling when she looks out over the shoreline.  Diana’s family includes her husband, Brian Lawson, the Public Relations Director at Crystal Mountain Resort, her three-year-old daughter, Eva, Basset Hound and kitten.  You might recognize her from evening televison- her local claim to fame is as an anchor/reporter for 7&4 News.

In participating with SwingShift and the Stars this year, Diana is looking forward to having great fun for a great cause!  The charity she has elected to dance for, the Mammography Assistance Fund through Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation, has special significance to her and her family.  Diana’s mother is a 10-year breast cancer survivor who benefited from early detection- so she knows from personal experience that mammograms can help save lives.  She firmly believes that all women should be able to have one of these life-saving screenings and that if one of our neighbors can’t afford it, we should step in to help her.
