Though Philip’s early years were spent in Virginia and Pennsylvania he moved to Traverse City in 2005 and couldn’t imagine raising a family anywhere else. He and his wife Angela, a social worker at Munson, have a growing family with a two and a half year old daughter, Madelyn and a new daughter, Piper, born in July. Philip has a BA in Dance Performance from Hope College and five years professional performance experience with the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble.
Philip has also earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and will be completing a BA in Secondary Education from Ferris State later this year. He currently serves as Artistic Director for the Michigan Dance Collective. He is looking forward to adding an element of technical judging to the table during this year’s season. He says “It’s dance, why would I not want to be involved.”
