Born and raised in Detroit, Rich moved north in 1993 after 30 years of big city life. He immediately felt at home in this area, a place he loves for its people, water, golf, people, pace of life, festivals, people, clear skies at night, nature and did he mention the people? Rich is married to the woman of his dreams, Eileen, whose main purpose is to keep him on his best behavior- which she does with great talent! They are proud parents to 2 children, Luciano Pavarotti- a canary and Isabella Rossalini- a 2 and a half pound malti-poo with the attitude of a great dane.
His local claim to fame is as one half of The Grumpy Old Men radio show on Classic Hits The Fox. Rich and his partner, Charlie, hit the airwaves every weekday morning from 6am til 10am. He is grateful to have been in radio for 12 years and can’t believe he can make a living while having so much fun! SwingShift and the Stars, like any good competition, needs somebody who is awful to measure the other competitors against and Rich believes that he is just the man to play this role! But, all jokes aside, he is serious about the deep respect he has for his charity of choice, Cherryland Humane Society. Rich has known Mike Cherry for years and has witnessed first hand the hard work that he and his staff perform on behalf of animals in need- he could not think of a better organization to raise money for!
